Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Modern Workplace Engineer for a 12‑month contract in Dublin, Ireland. You will own the delivery of enterprise Modern Workplace and EUC projects, focusing on Citrix environments, FSLogix, and related cloud/networking components.

The role requires hands‑on engineering, design and troubleshooting across Citrix Cloud, NetScaler, and AD/GPO, with hybrid working arrangements and collaboration with architects, PMs and customer teams.

Qualifications

5+ years' hands‑on experience across Citrix / EUC / Modern Workplace.
Strong enterprise Citrix engineering experience with delivery focus.
Proven track record delivering technical projects beyond BAU support.
Solid knowledge of AD, GPO, networking and storage.
Experience with FSLogix and profile management.
Ability to troubleshoot complex environments and document solutions.
Professional Services or consulting background beneficial.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of delivery.
Current Citrix certifications such as CCP‑V, CCE‑V, CCA‑AppDS or CCP‑AppDS.

Responsibilities

Take technical ownership of Modern Workplace and EUC project delivery.
Design and implement enterprise Citrix environments.
Build and optimise Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
Work with Citrix Cloud / DaaS environments.
Configure and manage NetScaler / ADC.
Design and troubleshoot FSLogix and Citrix profile solutions.
Work across Active Directory and Group Policy environments.
Support VDI storage architecture and performance.
Work with Azure Files and Azure NetApp Files.
Troubleshoot networking, connectivity and application delivery issues.
Monitor and optimise the end‑user experience using Citrix Director / Analytics and DEX tooling.
Integrate Modern Workplace platforms with Microsoft identity and security services.
Produce technical designs, implementation documentation and handover material.

The Opportunity

A large international organisation is looking for a Senior Modern Workplace Engineer to join its Professional Services team on an initial 12-month contract.

This is a hands‑on technical position for an engineer who knows how to build, optimise and troubleshoot enterprise Modern Workspace environments.

The focus is delivery - taking complex Modern Workplace requirements and turning them into stable, scalable solutions across Citrix, VDI, cloud infrastructure, identity, networking and user experience.
