Job summary

Quora is seeking an experienced machine learning engineer to join our distribution team, focusing on ranking models for feed, notifications, and digest emails. This role emphasizes ownership of end-to-end ML systems in a remote-friendly environment with strong emphasis on experimentation and collaboration.

You will improve ranking models, build data pipelines, feature engineering, and production integration while collaborating with other ML engineers to advance state-of-the-art recommendation

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience working on recommendation or ranking models.
• Strong mathematical foundations of ML algorithms.
• Experience building end-to-end ML systems.
• BS, MS, or PhD in CS, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve ML ranking models using core coding skills and ML knowledge.
• Take end-to-end ownership of ML systems — data pipelines, feature engineering, model training, and production integration.
• Identify opportunities to apply ML to other Quora products.
• Collaborate with other ML engineers to implement algorithms and systems efficiently.
