Job summary

SiriusXM in Ireland is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Scientist, Recommendations, to lead the development of advanced recommendation and personalization systems powering content discovery across our audio ecosystem. You will influence technical direction and drive end-to-end ML initiatives for millions of listeners.

Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science or related field required; PhD preferred.
• 6+ years of production ML experience deploying models at scale.
• Strong expertise in modern ML, ranking, personalization and transformer architectures.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives without direct authority.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, analytics and business teams.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to own initiatives end-to-end.
• Experience with ML infrastructure and experimentation platforms is a plus.
• Experience communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, deployment and optimization of ML systems for recommendations and personalization.
• Drive initiatives around personalized recommendations, ranking, and cross-domain discovery.
• Apply deep learning, transformers and reinforcement learning to improve user engagement.
• Own major initiatives from problem definition to production monitoring.
• Establish scalable evaluation, experimentation, and performance measurement.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Data Science and Content teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve content discovery and user experience.
• Provide architecture guidance and best practices in the recommendations domain.
• Mentor scientists and engineers on methodologies and production ML practices.
• Contribute to ML infrastructure, feature pipelines and scalability.
• Support cross-functional decision making as a trusted technical resource.
• Note: role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.
