Job summary

AbbVie in Ballytivnan, Sligo, is seeking a Senior Microbiologist to join the QC team on a 12-month on-site contract. The role ensures timely testing and release of materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability testing to meet quality and safety goals.

You will lead environmental and product microbiological tests, develop procedures, validate equipment and methods, and maintain strict data integrity in line with regulatory requirements; prior pharma lab experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Pharma industry.
• 5 years in a lab-based role.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.

• Maintain Laboratory Documentation and Data Integrity requirements.
• Understand Regulations and business processes required to maintain Laboratory Data Integrity and ensure implemention.
• Carry out environmental and product microbiological tests as required.
• Define and update procedures for plant relative to microbiological and environmental testing.
• Lead validation of equipment and test methods for microbiological tests.
• Lead Test method transfer of microbiological methods.
• Further develop and streamline microbiological laboratory procedures.
• Maintain and approve up-to-date and detailed records of all tests performed.
• Adheres to and supports all EHS & E standards, procedures and policies.
• Lead and support any lab related investigations.

In your role as a Senior Microbiologist, you will be responsible for providing an effective and analytical service to the plant ensuring that that products manufactured are tested to specification on time and plant quality and safety goals are met. This position will take responsibility for ensuring the timely testing and release of all raw materials, in-process, finished product, stability and contract testing.
