Job summary

Designer Group is seeking a Project Director (Mechanical) to lead operations for our data centre business. You will oversee concurrent contracts across Europe, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards while exceeding client expectations.

As PD you will manage senior project personnel, provide proactive accountability, and align with Designer Group values, driving performance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Mechanical related qualification (HNC/degree) and substantial field experience.
• Proven ability to manage multi-contract projects across Europe.
• Strong leadership, planning and financial controls.
• Clear, proactive communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
• Self-motivated with initiative and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Attention to technical detail and robust problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational delivery of DC projects across Europe.
• Manage site teams, standards, and project execution from pre-construction through completion.
• Develop procurement strategies, schedules, and submittals.
• Oversee planning, forecasting, budgeting and cost control.
• Coordinate design review, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Manage variations, valuations, and monthly commercial reporting.
• Lead meetings and ensure milestones are met; adapt to changes as needed.
• Maintain safety, quality and environmental compliance.
