Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead engineering activities on construction projects in Ireland. You will coordinate design with onsite installation through to commissioning, ensuring alignment with Kirby’s values and quality standards.

You will review designs, prepare coordinated drawings, manage submittals and lead interactions with the design team, contractors and the project team. A strong emphasis on safety, planning, and mentoring junior engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years’ project engineering experience with a mechanical contractor.
• Experience delivering small to medium mechanical projects (commercial, industrial, pharma, data centre).
• Commercial awareness and ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mentor and coach to junior engineers.
• Plan and manage projects; focus on EHS and Quality Systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design with onsite installation through commissioning.
• Prepare co-ordinated drawings for mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, structural and architectural works.
• Review design specs and ensure compliance of submittals.
• Attend project handover meetings and track progress.
• Organise and supervise subcontractors and QA inspections.
