Job summary

Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited is seeking a Senior Mechanical CFD Engineer to lead CFD modelling and analysis for data centre cooling systems across EMEA. You will collaborate with global engineering teams to optimise airflow and thermal performance, influencing mechanical design decisions and energy efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with CFD software, and a track record delivering CFD-driven design outcomes in mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
• Experience in data center design, HVAC design and related product development.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations including CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with industry CFD software (e.g. ANSYS Fluent, CFX, OpenFOAM, 6SigmaDCX).

Responsibilities

• Perform CFD modelling and analysis for data centre cooling systems to inform mechanical design.
• Lead CFD simulations and provide detailed reports and specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers in CFD workflows and best practices.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Construction, Operations, and Environmental teams across EMEA.
• Drive design strategy and standardisation for data centre cooling solutions.
• Support rollout of new cooling strategies and automation to improve throughput.
