Job summary

SystemCore is hiring a Senior Mechanical Consultant Design Engineer in Dublin. This full-time, on-site role leads the mechanical design of building systems and industrial processes, from concept through detailed design and performance optimization.

You will review CAD models, perform calculations, conduct site inspections, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to ensure quality, safety, and compliance. You will mentor juniors and contribute to proposals and design processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in senior or lead mechanical design roles within consulting or engineering firms.
• Commercial building mechanical design experience (hotels, healthcare, office, leisure).
• Knowledge of sustainability and low-carbon design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of building systems and industrial processes from concept to detail.
• Prepare/review CAD models and drawings; perform design calculations.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Advise clients on mechanical system selection, energy efficiency, and low-carbon solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposals and internal processes.
