Job summary

Biogen in Ireland is seeking a Senior Engineer I to provide hands-on process and manufacturing sciences expertise for technology transfers and clinical and commercial programs, with on-site leadership on the manufacturing floor.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality and Process Engineering to support SOPs, batch records and CAPA activities, and drive process optimization through data review using Tableau, Power BI and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Strong technical expertise in manufacturing sciences/technical development for biologics or other parenteral drug products.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Statistica, and SIMCA.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, on-site technical leadership during manufacturing operations and make timely decisions during live processing.
• Lead rapid process and product impact assessments and CAPAs requiring immediate access to the floor.
• Engage daily with Manufacturing, Quality and Process Engineering to ensure accurate SOPs and batch records.
• Perform real-time data review and trend analysis using Tableau, Power BI, Statistica and SIMCA.
• Support technology transfers from development and external partners to manufacturing facilities.
• Coordinate with on-site teams to ensure rapid alignment and execution during transfers.
• Develop tests to verify process execution as intended with manufacturing and engineering teams.
• Identify improvements to boost productivity and robustness through on-site observation.
• Coordinate technical reports and data supporting deviations, CAPAs, and technology transfer optimization.
• Serve as on-site subject-matter expert in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and/or process development.
• Support regulatory filings and inspections as needed.
