Job summary

Abbott Ireland, Donegal Town, is seeking a results-driven Senior Manufacturing Manager to lead manufacturing performance in a highly regulated medical device/pharmaceutical environment. You will drive safe, compliant operations and deliver sustainable results through people, systems, and disciplined execution.

You will coach high-performing teams, optimise production planning and process flow, champion CAPA and audit readiness, and engage stakeholders across functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in senior operations leadership within medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• 3rd Level Degree in Engineering, Science or related discipline.
• Strong track record in quality, compliance, and regulatory environments (GxP).
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance in complex operations.
• Expertise in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• CAPA and root cause analysis.
• Production planning and regulated processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on delivering results.

The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Manufacturing Manager to lead manufacturing performance in a highly regulated medical device / pharmaceutical environment. This role focuses on delivering strategic business outcomes while ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
