Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Ennis, Ireland, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the site engineering team. You will own product and process definition, drive robust controls, and push automation to improve yield and cost of ownership.

The role focuses on electrical engineering support for back-end test and reliability screening operations. The position operates on a weekend shift pattern (Thursday to Monday, 08:00–16:30) with rest days on Tuesday/Wednesday, providing steady engineering

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Engineering or Physics; Electronic/Electrical Engineering preferred.
Exposure to continuous improvement and quality methodologies — Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, DOE, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC — is an advantage.
Familiarity with semiconductor device physics or ATE/electrical test environments is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

Lead and support project work on high-reliability screening operations, including HTRB, burn-in, and electrical test/screening methodologies.
Partner with site engineers on equipment appraisal and qualification initiatives, driving process standardization, quality improvement, and EHS enhancements.
Develop deep knowledge of products, processes, and test equipment to provide technical direction on product disposition through screening and sampling steps.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry test methods, standards, and customer source-control requirements.
