Our client, a well-established and growing advisory firm, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Manager to join its Financial Reporting & Advisory team. This is a senior leadership position suited to an ambitious professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and a passion for developing client relationships.
As a Senior Manager, you will oversee the delivery of complex advisory engagements, acting as a trusted advisor to finance leaders while supporting organisations through technical accounting challenges, business transformation and evolving reporting requirements. You will play an influential role in developing client relationships, mentoring high-performing teams and contributing to the continued growth and success of the advisory practice.
Working with a broad range of listed companies, multinational organisations and large private businesses, you will have the opportunity to lead high-impact projects, collaborate with senior stakeholders and help shape the strategic direction of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of financial reporting and accounting advisory engagements, ensuring exceptional client service and successful project delivery.
- Provide expert technical advice across IFRS, FRS 102 and US GAAP, supporting clients with complex accounting and reporting matters.
- Advise on transactions and business events including acquisitions, group restructurings, business combinations, consolidations, impairment reviews, lease accounting and revenue recognition.
- Take overall responsibility for engagement planning, resource management, quality assurance and financial performance.
- Build long-term relationships with senior finance executives, becoming a trusted advisor on technical and commercial matters.
- Lead, coach and develop managers and wider team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Support business development by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, delivering client presentations and strengthening existing client relationships.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across specialist service lines and international teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Promote excellence in governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across all engagements.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement and best practice across the advisory function.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
- A minimum of six years' post-qualified experience within audit, financial reporting or accounting advisory.
- Previous experience gained within a leading accountancy practice or advisory firm is highly desirable.
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS and/or US GAAP, with the ability to apply complex accounting guidance in a commercial environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading large client engagements and managing high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent commercial awareness, with experience identifying opportunities to add value and grow client accounts.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience using CaseWare or comparable financial reporting software is advantageous.
