Job summary

Wellington Professional Recruitment is seeking a Senior M&E Resident Engineer to support major water and wastewater projects across the Kerry region. The role involves on-site supervision, contract administration, and technical input for W&WW treatment works, working with Irish Water/Uisce Éireann.

You will collaborate with contractors, design teams, Local Authorities and stakeholders, ensure HSQE standards, maintain records, and travel within the Waterford/Wexford region as required.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years' post-graduate site engineering or resident engineering experience.
• Significant water/wastewater infrastructure project experience.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and HSQE on live sites.
• Experience conducting site audits and corrective actions.
• Experience preparing technical reports and maintaining project records.
• Strong contract administration and site supervision capabilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate with contractors, design teams and authorities.
• Willingness to travel across the Waterford/Wexford region as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision and management across water and wastewater works (new-build and upgrades).
• Ensure delivery in full compliance with contract requirements, specifications and legislation.
• Liaise with Local Authorities, stakeholders and design teams for successful delivery.
• Perform HSQE audits and manage HSQE issues on site.
• Maintain project trackers, records and reporting for traceability.
• Support Design Engineers with site feedback and technical input.
• Attend, chair and manage meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
• Respond to complaints and site issues with timely resolutions.
• Create snag lists and approve remedial works to required standards.
• Conduct pre-construction site visits to identify issues and mitigate risks.
