Job summary

Selby Jennings seeks a Senior Low Latency C++ Software Engineer to design and build ultra-low latency trading and research systems. You will work on high-performance, low-latency applications spanning networking, distributed systems, and large-scale infrastructure.

You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to advance market data platforms, improve tooling, and raise engineering standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ experience with modern standards and low-latency techniques.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and systems programming.
• Experience with multithreading, performance profiling, and optimisation.
• Bachelor's or higher in CS/Engineering/Math/Physics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing ultra-low latency C++ applications
• Building and enhancing automated trading and market data systems
• Optimising system performance across the software stack
• Developing scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure and services
• Working closely with researchers and other engineers to deliver new functionality
• Improving tooling, monitoring, testing, and operational reliability
• Contributing to the architecture of distributed systems handling large volumes of real-time data
• Participating in code reviews and helping maintain high engineering standards
