Job summary

Mastercard is hiring a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Dublin based Fraud Platform team. You will own end‑to‑end features in a high‑performance, distributed in‑memory caching layer that supports global transactions with low latency and high availability.

You will work in a collaborative Agile environment, mentoring peers, and shaping technical direction while ensuring secure, scalable API capabilities and robust testing across the stack.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with modern Java (JDK 17+).
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs.
• Distributed caching / in‑memory data grid experience desirable (Geode, Hazelcast, Redis).
• Proficient with Linux, SQL and messaging systems; design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own complex features across the full software lifecycle: architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, rollback planning, documentation.
• Design and implement high‑performing, scalable Java capabilities; apply design patterns and API standards.
• Troubleshoot across multi‑tiered systems; develop resilient solutions.
• Provide technical leadership; review code and promote best practices.
