Job summary

Accenture Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer / Lead with hands-on delivery in payments and IPF to support large-scale payment systems. You will develop in modern, cloud-based architectures and collaborate with major banking clients, aligning technical design with business needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands on experience implementing ICON IPF or similar payments framework within banking environment.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of microservices-based applications using Java (v17 onwards), Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership to development teams, ensuring best practices in architecture, coding standards, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Strong experience working in AWS cloud environments.
• Solid experience with Apache Kafka and asynchronous messaging.
• Hands-on experience of operating within payment solution within banking environments.
• Strong understanding of JMS, JSON, XML, Spring JPA, transaction management (JTA) and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in Oracle and MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), with the ability to promote quality engineering practices across the development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes, Observability tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Tivoli and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
• Proven experience working closely with major banking clients.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 payments, including payment types and schemes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders in Agile Scrum teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
