Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment is seeking a Senior Java Software Developer for an Ireland-based remote role with a global healthcare technology company. You will design, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade Java applications for a cloud-based patient information platform.

You will work on scalable backend services, APIs, and data processing using AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices in an Agile Scrum environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years Java/J2EE development experience.
• Experience in enterprise-scale, cloud-based backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with APIs, integration, and data processing.
• Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications for a cloud-based healthcare data platform.
• Develop scalable backend services for processing and integrating patient and clinical data.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Build and enhance cloud-based applications deployed globally using AWS and Kubernetes.
• Develop APIs and integration services connecting healthcare systems.
• Design and optimise solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Contribute to event-driven software solutions using technologies like Apache Kafka.
• Support DevOps practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, DevOps, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile Scrum development and provide technical mentorship.
