Job summary

Altimetrik Poland is seeking a Senior Java Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise-grade Java applications. You will build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and contribute to distributed system architectures in an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply best engineering practices, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Java experience with Core Java and modern language features.
• Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot for RESTful services and microservices.
• Database proficiency in SQL/PLSQL with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with ORM (JPA/Hibernate) and database migrations (Flyway/Liquibase).
• Event-driven architecture with Kafka; IBM MQ knowledge is a plus.
• Security expertise: Spring Security, OAuth2, OIDC, JWT.
• Designing REST APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger and resilient service communication.
• Caching, Resilience4j, circuit breakers, retries, rate limiting.
• NoSQL/Search exposure (MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Testing with JUnit 5, Mockito, AssertJ, Cucumber, Testcontainers, WireMock.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and Spring.
• Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka and messaging systems.
• Design and optimize database schemas and data access layers.
• Implement security with OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Apply resilience and caching for reliable services.
• Write clean, well-tested code following engineering standards.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.
• Collaborate with distributed teams and participate in code reviews.
• Engage in full software development lifecycle from planning to maintenance.
