Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Information Architect to shape enterprise data strategy, governance, and AI-enabled capabilities across cloud platforms. The role involves defining data models, canonical entities, and semantic layers to support agentic AI and regulated data products.

You will collaborate with engineering and domain teams, enforce standards, and mentor architects while aligning solutions with risk and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, or information management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven enterprise data modelling experience at conceptual, logical, and physical levels.
• Hands-on SqlDBM experience (or equivalent modern toolset).
• Proven experience with dbt Labs.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and Databricks platforms (including Cortex AI and Genie).
• Familiarity with OWL, RDF, SPARQL and enterprise ontology design.
• Experience with at least one agentic AI framework.
• GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistant in professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape enterprise data architecture across domains and teams.
• Govern and maintain enterprise data model library and lineage.
• Translate business requirements into robust data structures with engineering teams.
• Define semantic modelling standards for AI-ready data products.
• Design data product schemas on Snowflake and Databricks.
