Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Engineer, Incident Response to advance Security Operations and Cyber Resilience in Limerick, Ireland. You will lead investigations, guide analysts, and coordinate incident response across MITRE ATT&CK tactics, cloud and on‑premise environments.

You will partner with Threat Intel, IAM, and Infrastructure teams, drive automation, runbooks, and post‑incident reviews, while mentoring junior staff and owning major cyber events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience leading technical investigations and developing cyber defence capabilities.
• Experience with triage and developing detections on SIEM/XDR platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Splunk or CrowdStrike.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic cybersecurity initiatives to enhance Security Operations and Incident Response.
• Act as Incident Commander for major cyber security incidents.
• Mentor Tier 1–3 analysts and drive automation and playbook improvements.
