Job summary

Government of Ireland is seeking an Infrastructure and Operations – Senior ICT Specialist in the Civil Service to lead design, deployment and support of ICT/digital infrastructures across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The role requires strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and service delivery within a multi‑disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• A degree qualification at NFQ Level 7 or higher with at least 3 years of hands-on ICT infrastructure and operations experience.
• An NFQ Level 8 honours degree with computing modules and at least 3 years of hands-on ICT infrastructure experience.
• An NFQ Level 6 or higher in computing with at least 5 years of hands-on ICT infrastructure experience via ETB/Apprenticeship.
• Two industry-recognised certifications, at least one relevant to ICT infrastructure and operations, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support ICT/digital infrastructures across a broad range of technologies for internal and external service users.
• Manage corporate ICT services including productivity apps, email, collaboration, videoconferencing and internet access.
• Develop and support end-to-end ICT infrastructure and operations solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Lead testing, documentation and governance to ensure quality service delivery.
• Assist in procurement and vendor/contract management for ICT services and products.
• Mentor and lead teams to promote human-centred service design and continuous improvement.
