Job summary

Jacobs is expanding its Life Sciences Engineering team in Ireland and is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead I&C design activities for pharma and biopharma projects in Dublin. You will mentor juniors, ensure designs meet regulatory standards, and support commissioning and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.
• Approximately 8 years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls engineering.
• Strong background in pharmaceutical project delivery.
• Proven experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC automation, and process instrumentation.
• Familiarity with GxP environments, cleanroom systems, and regulated industry standards.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead I&C design activities on multidisciplinary pharma and biopharma projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
• Ensure all design work aligns with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.
• Attend client meetings and workshops to define, refine, and develop project scope.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Prepare Basis of Design (BOD) documentation.
• Develop Detailed Design packages and construction documentation for BMS and I&C contractors/System Integrators.
• Support commissioning, FAT/SAT activities, and technical queries during construction.
