Job summary

RecruitNet seeks a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our team in a dementia-focused nursing home in Co South Dublin. You will provide person-centred care, support daily living activities, and help residents feel safe and valued.

The role involves supervising Healthcare Assistants, assisting with training and appraisals, and coordinating with nursing staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. A QQI Level 5 Award in Healthcare and 2+ years elder care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Award in Healthcare or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of elder care experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and enhance activities and events for Residents.
• Supervise and support the training and development of Healthcare Assistants.
• Assist with staff appraisals and performance reviews as requested.
• Liaise with Unit PIC and CNM for new Residents.
• Help Residents feel welcomed, comfortable and supported.
• Ensure high standard of care by Healthcare Assistants to Residents.
• Participate in delegated duties involving direct Resident care and activities of daily living.
• Assist Residents with personal care, including washing, toileting, dressing and undressing.
• Support Residents during dining, social activities, conversations and communication.
• Support nursing staff with the organisation and day-to-day allocation of work

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Healthcare Assistant dedicated candidateto join our team in providing personalized care and support to individuals living with dementia in our Nursing Home based in Co South Dublin.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to and enhance the quality of activities and events for Residents.

Supervise and support the training and development of Healthcare Assistants.

Assist with staff appraisals and performance reviews as requested.

Liaise with the Unit PIC and CNM to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place for new Residents.

Help new Residents feel welcomed, comfortable, secure and supported.

Ensure the highest standard of care is provided by Healthcare Assistants to assigned Residents.

Participate in delegated duties involving direct Resident care and activities of daily living.

Assist Residents with personal care, including washing, toileting, dressing and undressing.

Support Residents during dining, social activities, conversations and communication.

Support nursing staff with the organisation and day-to-day allocation of work

Requirements

• QQI Level 5 Award - Healthcare or equivalent
  
• Excellent track record as a high performing Healthcare worker
  
• Elder care experience. (2 years + experience)
  
• Ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleagues.
