Job summary

Excel Recruitment Healthcare partners with a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service in Ireland to recruit a Senior Psychologist (CAMHS) for Cavan or Monaghan. The role delivers advanced psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions within a multidisciplinary team, on a part-time basis.

Job Title: Senior Psychologist (CAMHS) Location: Cavan or Monaghan Contract Type: Agency 1 year contract initially (with strong potential for extension) Role: Part-time hours available, Monday-Friday Salary: Aligned with HSE Senior Psychologist Pay Scales Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist on behalf of a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service team in Cavan or Monaghan. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking service dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and adolescents. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to develop their career further. The post holder will be based in Cavan or Monaghan and will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team on a part-time basis. You will have regular clinical supervision. Your leadership style will be based around compassion and inclusivity; you will encourage this in the staff you clinically supervise. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure the service is resilient and sustainable, with a well-supported team delivering evidence-based interventions.

Job Purpose

The Senior Psychologist will deliver advanced psychological assessments, formulations, and therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents referred to CAMHS. The role also involves working closely with families and carers, contributing to service development, and providing supervision and consultation within the MDT. You will be highly skilled and experienced in delivering and developing an evidence-based therapeutic service, with a record of being a compassionate and inclusive leader.

Eligibility Criteria

A Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology. Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant body. Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years at Senior or equivalent level Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations across the life span and care settings Strong background working with children and young people with co-morbid mental Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise effectively with other professionals.
