Job summary

Beacon Hospital in Dublin seeks a senior GI Physiologist to lead advanced diagnostic testing and service development within the GI team. You will train staff, interpret complex results, and contribute to quality improvement while maintaining patient-centred care.

The role requires extensive GI physiology expertise, mentoring of junior staff, and collaboration with consultants to enhance clinical pathways and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have strong clinical competence in GI physiology investigations.
• Experience leading or supervising teams in a hospital setting.
• Proven quality improvement and service development involvement.
• Excellent communication with multidisciplinary teams and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret, and report GI physiology investigations (HRM, pH/impedance, SIBO, breath tests).
• Lead advanced diagnostic testing and contribute to service development.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff; support professional development.
• Analyse data and produce high-quality clinical reports; maintain records in line with data protection.
