Job summary

Wayflyer is seeking a seasoned full-stack engineer to join our Europe-based team. You will work across backend and frontend, using Python/Django on the backend and TypeScript/React on the frontend to deliver robust financial tech features.

You’ll own features end-to-end, collaborate with product and design, review code, and help maintain reliable, secure production systems while growing your expertise across stack components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with depth in backend or frontend.
• Proficiency in Python and Django, SQL databases (PostgreSQL), and API design; working TS/React experience.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end: shape solutions with product and design, build across API and UI, ship to production with measurable outcomes.
• Specialize in backend architecture, data modeling, or frontend architecture and act as go-to expert on your team.
• Design and develop backend services using Python and Django, including data models and RESTful APIs for financial products.
• Build high-quality, reusable frontend features using TypeScript and React.
• Write clean, testable code with strong test coverage across the stack (pytest for backend; Storybook/Chromatic, Playwright, Vitest for frontend).
• Participate in code reviews to share knowledge and improve code quality.
• Monitor and maintain production systems for reliability, performance, and security.
