Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Azure Developer to design, build and deploy enterprise-grade cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure. The role requires deep expertise in Azure, React.js, Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js, with a strong grasp of microservices, RESTful APIs, DevOps, and Agile delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Azure or cloud-related certifications.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional teams and Agile environments.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience in full stack roles.
• Expert-level skills in React.js, Java, and web application architecture.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Demonstrated experience with RESTful API development and microservices.
• Deep experience with Microsoft Azure services (APIM, Azure Functions, etc.).
• Strong understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of applications using React.js (frontend) and Java (Spring Boot) and TypeScript (Node.js) backend development.
• Architect and implement scalable microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Apply advanced object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions leveraging Azure services including API Management (APIM), Event Hub, Azure Functions, App Services, PostgreSQL.
• Work with relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases and integration layers.
• Guide Agile development practices including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with product, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

This is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to attend our Tralee office weekly.

Role Description

SMBC is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Full Stack Azure Developer to design, build and deploy enterprise-grade cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in Azure application development, React.js, Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js technologies, with a strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, DevOps practices and Agile delivery methodologies.

This role will report to the Executive Director of Corporate Banking Application Development

Role Objectives: Delivery
