Job summary

The Assistant Chief Fire Officer has responsibility for managing the service delivery and development of Dublin Fire and Emergency Service functions in the areas delegated by the Chief Fire Officer. These areas include operations (fire and EMS), fire safety, major emergency management, training, change management, quality assurance and logistics.

The ACFO is a member of the Dublin Fire Brigade management team and will contribute to DFB development and may represent DFB or act for the Chief Fire

Responsibilities

• Planning, directing, organising, overseeing and managing fire service activities in accordance with the relevant national policies and those of the four Dublin Local Authorities.
• Managing and motivating staff by fostering good employee/management relations and using modern HR policies, etc. (staff placement, training and development, career progression, grievance and disciplinary policy).
• Taking responsibility for health, safety and welfare of DFB workplace in line with safety statements and policy.
