Job summary

PSC Biotech Corporation seeks a highly motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join the Technical Operations (TOPS) Finance team. This role focuses on global inventory costing, SOX compliance, US GAAP audits, intercompany eliminations, and balance sheet reconciliations.

You will collaborate with regional and global finance teams on manufacturing and supply chain finance processes. The position is a 12-month contract with a possibility of extension, offering exposure to top pharmaceutical client

Qualifications

  • Experience in US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley controls is desirable.
  • Experience with inventory accounting in a multinational environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and SAP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end close including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations under US GAAP.
  • Assist with consolidated reporting for TOPS, covering inventory and P&L areas.
  • Maintain internal controls and coordinate with auditors as required.
  • Account for manufacturing activity including material purchases and overhead absorption.
  • Collaborate with regional and global finance teams on reporting requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and work with ERP/finance teams to enhance efficiency.

Overview:

Seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Accountant tojoin our Technical Operations (TOPS) Finance team. The Senior FinancialAccountant will be part of the Consolidated Reporting team within the TOPSFinance organization. This team has global responsibility for TOPS reportingincluding inventory costing, excess & obsolescence, SOX compliance, US GAAPaudits, intercompany profit elimination and balance sheet reconciliations. TheSenior Financial Accountant will be part of a team responsible for global manufacturingand supply chain finance operations for products throughout multiple stages ofproduction and distribution.

This position will be a key member of a cross-functionalaccounting team, collaborating extensively with regional and global financeteams and technical operations teams.
12 Month of Contract with possibility of an extension.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end close responsibilities include journal entrypreparation and submission, balance sheet reconciliations and review of monthlyfinancial results in accordance with US GAAP and submission of closedeliverables.
  • Assist with preparation of consolidated financialmanagement reporting for TOPS for balance sheet and P&L inventory areas.
  • Maintain internal controls in line with corporatestandards, GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Work with internal andexternal auditors as required.
  • Accounting for manufacturing activity including materialpurchases, overhead absorption and contract manufacturing costs.
  • Conduct data mining and analysis, interpreting andcommunicating information to relevant stakeholders in a meaningful andactionable way.
  • Ensure correct accounting for Buy/Sell entities and allintercompany inventory transactions, including calculating and recording Profitin Inventory (PII) eliminations.
  • Evaluate inventory balances for excess and obsolescenceand determine need for inventory reserves.
  • Review and analyse inventory variances on a monthly basisand work with business functions to understand drivers.
  • Participate in the annual standard cost setting processthrough analysis of costing results, and identification of differences,outliers and key movements.
  • Review and maintain cycle counts and initiate action onany discrepancies.Work closely withCMO, supply chain and manufacturing departments to ensure inventory accuracy atall locations.
  • Establish relationships with Corporate & RegionalFinance teams to ensure all reporting requirements are performed timely andaccurately.
  • Develop an understanding of material flow from bulkmanufacturing through to fill/finish stage to ensure accuracy of inventoryvalues.
  • Monitor production plans for bulk manufacturing and CMOactivity to ensure accurate inventory valuation and completeness of overheadabsorption.
  • Represent TOPS Finance in local and global projects andinitiatives.Engage in continuousimprovement initiatives to drive process efficiencies and participate intransformation projects as required.
  • Collaborate with ERP and global finance teams to identifyand introduce process enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Interact and collaborate effectively within workgroup andarea of expertise. Participate effectively on cross-functional teams, offeringviews and actively solicits ideas from others in seeking sound businesssolutions. Encourage others in fostering effective teamwork. Demonstrate verystrong customer service orientation.

Education:

Experience:

  • Experience in a multi-national organization and inventoryaccounting experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate experience in process improvement initiativesand working on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and internal controlenvironment desirable.
  • Experience with an integrated ERP system, general ledgerfunctions, sub-ledger processes, and period closing.Understanding of relationship of otheraccounting functions to manufacturing accounting.SAP experience is a distinct advantage.
