Job summary

Morgan McKinley are recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant to join a leading multinational manufacturing organisation in Shannon, Ireland. You will report to the Financial Controller and play a key role across financial accounting, reporting, controls and commercial finance for the Irish entity and international operations.

The role requires leading month-end processes, managing GL, journals, accruals, intercompany accounting, and collaboration with manufacturing and supply chain teams on

Qualifications

• 8+ years of finance/accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing.
• Fully qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, month-end close and financial controls.
• Experience with manufacturing finance, inventory and product costing.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
• Manage General Ledger, journals, accruals, prepayments, payroll and intercompany accounting.
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse financial results and investigate variances.
• Support VAT, statutory reporting, audits and tax requirements.
• Support SOX, internal controls and financial compliance.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and FP&A activities.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain and commercial teams on profitability and cash flow.
• Assist with treasury and cash management activities.
• Support process improvement and automation initiatives.

A leading multinational manufacturing organisation is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Shannon. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role across financial accounting, reporting, controls and commercial finance, supporting both the Irish entity and wider international operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
• Manage General Ledger, journals, accruals, prepayments, payroll and intercompany accounting.
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse financial results and investigate variances.
• Support VAT, statutory reporting, audits and tax requirements.
• Support SOX, internal controls and financial compliance.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and FP&A activities.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain and commercial teams on profitability and cash flow.
• Support inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis and capex reviews.
• Assist with treasury and cash management activities.
• Support process improvement and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years' finance/accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Fully qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, month-end close and financial controls.
• Experience with manufacturing finance, inventory and product costing.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems.
• Strong Excel skills; Power BI experience advantageous.
• Experience in a multinational environment and exposure to Ireland/EMEA statutory reporting preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded, detail-oriented and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
