Job summary

Barden is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant in Cork to join a fast-paced, growth-minded team. You will lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across multiple entities, focusing on lease and energy accounting for the EMEA region.

Responsibilities include ensuring robust financial governance, automating processes where possible, and collaborating with Tax, FP&A, and expansion teams on complex transactions and new entity integrations.

Qualifications

• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or similar).
• Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP standards.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Track record supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and audit or controls work.
• Comfortable using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to guide business decisions.
• Familiarity with reporting tools such as Cognos or Redshift.
• Exposure to data platforms like Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau.

• Leading period-end close activities across several legal entities, including journal preparation, results analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Spotting opportunities to streamline and automate work in line with global best practice.
• Overseeing the integration of new entities, product lines, and activities, making sure the right processes and safeguards are in place before launch.
• Bringing sound accounting judgment to new product launches, projects, and complex transactions.
• Working closely with Tax, FP&A, and expansion colleagues.
• Representing the Accounting function on projects that span multiple teams.
• Building deep familiarity with the business to inform reporting and analysis, both internally and externally.
• Helping prepare and review more complex statutory financial statements.

This is a role for an ambitious accounting professional who's comfortable in a fast-paced setting, taking charge of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles for both group and statutory purposes, while championing smarter processes and stronger financial governance.
