Job summary

Allsite Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Civils Estimator to join our client's preconstruction team in Galway. You will lead the preparation of high-quality, competitive tender submissions for major civil engineering and utility projects.

You will manage tenders end-to-end, analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations, develop cost estimates and bid strategies, and collaborate with Design, Operations and Project Delivery teams to deliver winning solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Significant estimating experience within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Irish construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Experience pricing utility, power, telecommunications, water, gas or heavy civils projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, labour outputs and supply chain pricing.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tender opportunities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, pricing and submission of competitive tenders for civil engineering and utility infrastructure projects.
• Manage all aspects of tenders from initial enquiry to submission and handover.
• Obtain, analyse and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, pricing models and bid strategies.
• Collaborate with Design, Operations, Commercial and Project Delivery teams to develop winning tender solutions.
• Identify and evaluate commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering proposals.
• Prepare tender programmes and methodologies in conjunction with operational teams.
• Support post-tender negotiations and client presentations where required.
• Ensure all tender submissions align with quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Provide detailed handovers to project delivery teams upon award.
• Support and mentor junior estimators and members of the wider pre-construction team.
• Maintain awareness of market conditions, supply chain and industry trends.
