Job summary

Clare County Council seeks an Executive Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary teams across planning, housing, roads and water services. The role requires significant engineering experience, contract oversight, and effective liaison with Councillors to deliver policy decisions.

You will manage projects within budgets, drive service delivery in a resource-constrained environment, and promote value for money through strong leadership and governance.

Qualifications

• Must have at least five years of satisfactory relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in managing and scheduling a multiannual portfolio of projects within budget and on time.
• Strong track record of delivering results and working with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Active participation in implementing programmes and projects across all service areas.
• Supervision and contract administration of construction, operations and maintenance works.
• Ensuring works are implemented within allocated budgets and timelines.
• Maintaining Health & Safety in the workplace and compliance with regulations.
• Liaising with elected members and external agencies to deliver services.
