Job summary

WESCO International, Inc. in Ireland is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to code, deploy and support large scale serverless architectures on Microsoft Azure.

You will design and develop enhancements, and build DevOps CI/CD pipelines with automation, while preparing system documentation and troubleshooting SQL queries. The role requires 5+ years of Azure experience, full stack skills (React/Redux/NodeJS), Terraform IaC, and scripting in Python/Go.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required.
• 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure technologies and services.
• Full stack development experience with React, Redux, and NodeJS (ES2015).
• Experience building automated DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automation servers (Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI).
• Ability to define CI/CD pipelines using JSON or YAML across environments.
• Strong Python/Go and Bash/PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows.
• Databases: NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) and Relational (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• IaC concepts with Terraform; Policy-as-Code and security in cloud environments.
• Understanding of enterprise networking (CIDR).
• Experience with Kubernetes and Azure deployments.

Responsibilities

• Code, deploy, and support large scale, 100% serverless architectures.
• Design and develop enhancements to applications when identified by the creation of new components.
• Design and develop automation when the opportunity arises.
• Design and build DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Prepare and present system documentation and analysis as well as write SQL queries to troubleshoot application problems.
• Build, deploy, and source code maintenance of new versions of applications in the cloud hosting environment.
• Systems Administrator duties such as SSH into individual Linux servers to review logs and triage problems and leveraging monitoring solutions such as Splunk, New Relic, or other monitoring tools to support delivery teams in effectively debugging applications.
• Set up Azure resources such as load‑balancers, compute instances, and databases.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Prepare and present technical presentations and system process documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure technologies and services such as Compute, Storage, Databases, API Management, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions.
• Full stack development experience with technologies such as React, Redux, and NodeJS server-side development using ES2015.
• Knowledge of designing and building fully automated DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using automation servers like Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI, etc.
• Ability to define Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines using JSON or YAML and understand designing incremental promotion across environments.
• Strong understanding of Python/Go and Bash/PowerShell scripting.
• Experience writing scripts to automate mundane tasks.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix + Windows.
• Databases understanding: NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB), Relational (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts and implementation with Terraform.
• Experience implementing Policy-as-Code and event driven security in cloud environments.
• A working understanding of enterprise networking concepts like CIDR.
• Code, deploy, and support large scale enterprise-grade architecture.
• Experience designing, configuring, and deploying applications in Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of complex applications, micro-services, and serverless use cases.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
