Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Senior Engineer/Project Manager to lead planning and design of transport projects across Ireland, with roles in road and active travel sectors. Based in Dublin or Dundalk, the candidate will oversee design development, procurement, contract documents, administration and construction supervision.

The ideal candidate holds an Engineering degree (Level 8/9), is Chartered, and has experience in Irish pavement standards, multi-disciplinary teams, and client leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree-level engineering qualification and Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience planning, design and management of transport schemes in Ireland preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary design teams and manage budgets and change control.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design road, asset management, public transport and active travel projects across Ireland.

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Manager with relevant experience in planning and design of transport projects. The candidate will join our growing Transportation business and will be based in our Dublin or Dundalk office. The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hard working, flexible, willing to take on responsibility and be comfortable working as part of a team.

Your role

• The role will involve planning and design of road, asset management, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland, input to design development, procurement processes, preparation of contract documents, contract administration and construction supervision.
• The role will involve providing support and design input to Key Clients in managing sections of the National Road Network.

About you

• Relevant experience in a consultancy and/or construction environment.
• Educated to degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).
• Chartered Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of relevant design standards (in particular Irish pavement standards and approvals procedures) and ability to translate this knowledge into practical, buildable and value for money designs.
• Experience inthe management,planning and design oftransportationschemes (preferably in Ireland) including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of contract documents, contact administration of Public Works and/or NEC Contracts,construction supervisionand commercial management.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design teams and projects.
• A willingness to develop and build client relationships.
• Experience in thedevelopment oftender proposals, leadingbids and winning new commissions.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and work to a budget and programme, to control costs and manage change control processes.
