Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Ireland Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Manager with experience in planning and design of transport projects. The role is based in Dublin or Dundalk, and involves leading multidisciplinary teams on road, public transport and active travel schemes across Ireland.

You will contribute to design development, procurement, contract documents, administration and supervision, while developing strong client relationships and bid capabilities for new commissions.

Qualifications

• Degree-level engineering education (Level 8/9) and Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience planning and designing transportation schemes, including feasibility and detailed design.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams and projects.
• Ability to develop client relationships and win new commissions.
• Strong knowledge of Irish pavement standards and approval procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design road, asset management, public transport and active travel projects across Ireland.

Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland. We are seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Manager with relevant experience in planning and design of transport projects. The candidate will join our growing Transportation business and will be based in our Dublin or Dundalk office. The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hard working, flexible, willing to take on responsibility and be comfortable working as part of a team.

Your role

• The role will involve planning and design of road, asset management, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland, input to design development, procurement processes, preparation of contract documents, contract administration and construction supervision.
• The role will involve providing support and design input to Key Clients in managing sections of the National Road Network.

About you

• Relevant experience in a consultancy and/or construction environment.
• Educated to degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).
• Chartered Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of relevant design standards (in particular Irish pavement standards and approvals procedures) and ability to translate this knowledge into practical, buildable and value for money designs.
• Experience in the management, planning and design of transportation schemes (preferably in Ireland) including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of contract documents, contact administration of Public Works and/or NEC Contracts, construction supervision and commercial management.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design teams and projects.
• A willingness to develop and build client relationships.
• Experience in the development of tender proposals, leading bids and winning new commissions.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and work to a budget and programme, to control costs and manage change control processes.
