Job summary

Stryker Corporation in Ireland invites applications for a Hybrid Senior Engineer in Product Transfer on a 23-month fixed-term contract. The role collaborates with Product Transfer, Operations and Divisional partners to drive high-impact, cost-transformative projects.

The candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years in manufacturing or a project environment, exhibit strong teamwork and problem-solving skills, and be proficient in reading engineering drawings with GD&T.

Work Flexibility: Hybrid Senior Engineer, Product Transfer (23 Month FTC)

Position Summary This role is within the Product Transfer team. The role contributes to the delivery of high impact, cost transformative projects. The role will require the successful candidate to operate across a network of stakeholders from Product Transfer, Operations and Divisional partners, therefore strong interpersonal skills and communication skills will be necessary.

What you will do:
  • Provide engineering support for product transfers ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the latest Stryker procedures.
  • Determine the technical objectives of engineering assignments and makes decisions regarding the direction and the results of the assignment.
  • Monitor and control progress of work ensuring sound application of engineering principles and the appropriate use of policies and procedures.
  • Analyse equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental test and result analysis.
  • May lead or act as independent reviewer in process review meetings.
  • Coach and mentor others on functionally related topics.
  • Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with quality engineers to develop component specific testing and inspection protocols.
  • Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, PPAP and other Stryker internal process qualification generation associated with product transfers.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP and safety procedures.
  • Review and approve of validation documentation.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline with 2 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing or project environment
  • Proven track record of working in a team based environment
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Be open minded with the ability to recognise good ideas.
  • Innovative thinker - should be able to envisage new and better ways of doing things.
  • Experience in executing complex problem solving techniques related to manufacturing/design technical issues.
  • Good instincts and sound judgement for mechanical and structural design.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired):
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry
  • Experience of process/ product validations, statistical methods, Process mapping, Continuous Improvement and Project / Process Improvement related experience
  • Green or Black Belt 6 Sigma qualifications
  • Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
Pay Ranges:

Ireland: €47,000 - €77,000 EUR Annual

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for incentive compensation (such as bonus and/or commissions where applicable), along with Stryker's comprehensive benefits package.

Travel Percentage:

20%

Work Flexibility
  • Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace.
  • Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based.
  • Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
  • Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
