Job summary

Egis Group Ireland seeks a senior Bridge Design Engineer to lead the delivery of bridge and transportation structural design projects from concept to handover. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage scope and budgets, and provide technical leadership.

Applicants should hold a BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with at least 10 years’ experience on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably highways, roads or rail, and demonstrate mentoring capability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Bridge Design Engineer.
  • Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects (highways/roads/rail).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of bridge and transportation structural design projects.
  • Manage projects from concept through detailed design to construction and handover.
  • Oversee design checks and calculations in line with standards.
  • Plan, programme, and manage project delivery, resources, and budgets.
  • Act as main client contact and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of bridge and transportation structural design projects
  • Manage projects from concept through detailed design to construction and handover
  • Undertake and oversee bridge and structural design and detailing in line with relevant standards
  • Carry out and review structural analysis and design calculations
  • Manage and undertake independent design checks, including Category checks
  • Plan, programme, and manage project delivery, resources, and budgets
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to junior engineers
  • Ensure quality, safety, and compliance across all deliverables
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.Eng/M.Eng) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Bridge Design Engineer, covering all project phases from concept development through to project handover
  • Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within highways, roads, or rail sectors
