Job summary

Egis Ireland seeks an experienced Bridge Design Engineer to lead delivery of bridge and transportation structural design projects. You will manage projects from concept through design to construction and handover, and oversee design checks and calculations to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering and 10+ years’ experience, with a track record on large-scale infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Bridge Design Engineer across all project phases from concept to handover.
  • Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably highways/roads/rail.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of bridge and transportation structural design projects
  • Manage projects from concept through detailed design to construction and handover
  • Undertake and oversee bridge and structural design and detailing in line with relevant standards
  • Carry out and review structural analysis and design calculations
  • Manage and undertake independent design checks, including Category checks
  • Plan, programme, and manage project delivery, resources, and budgets
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to junior engineers
  • Ensure quality, safety, and compliance across all deliverables
What do we need from you

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.Eng/M.Eng) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Bridge Design Engineer, covering all project phases from concept development through to project handover
  • Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within highways, roads, or rail sectors
