Job summary

Hero Recruitment Group's client, a leading medical device manufacturer, seeks a Senior Engineer to own laser cutting, laser welding and precision grinding within the manufacturing team.

The role targets candidates with a Level 8 engineering degree and at least 5 years' experience in medical device manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment, with hands-on laser processing experience and knowledge of grinding. Lean and Six Sigma experience and GMP/ISO 13485 awareness are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Level 8 degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in medical device manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment.
• Hands-on metal laser processing experience, particularly laser cutting and laser welding, with knowledge of grinding (essential).
• Strong tenure as a senior member of an engineering team.
• Strong knowledge of process validation, GMP and ISO 13485.
• Supervisory experience is advantageous for Manufacturing Engineering candidates, but not essential for NPI candidates.

• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable solutions.
• Drive improvements in process capability, efficiency, quality and cost using Lean and Six Sigma.
• Lead process development, optimisation and validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Support new product introductions from feasibility through to manufacturing transfer.
• Mentor engineers and technicians, with team supervision for Manufacturing Engineering candidates.
