Job summary

Sonatus is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head an embedded software team focused on in-vehicle middleware and platform services for Fastlane Collector and Copilot products.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture, ensure high availability and low latency, and coordinate with Product, Hardware, and QA. The role demands MISRA-compliant, mission-critical software development across embedded Linux and HPC environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in embedded software development with technical leadership.
• 3+ years in engineering management with direct reports.
• Experience delivering mission-critical, internet-connected devices.
• Strong skills in C++, IPC, and automotive protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and grow an embedded software development team.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture focused on technical excellence.
• Drive planning and delivery of software for Fastlane products on embedded Linux/HPC.
• Provide architectural oversight through system design and code reviews.
• Align agile practices with automotive reliability standards (MISRA).
• Define HIL testing strategies and resolve integration bottlenecks with Hardware Eng. and QA.
• Improve developer workflows with internal tools team.
• Integrate LLM/agentic tooling to increase velocity while preserving quality.
