Job summary

Mbryonics is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to design and develop advanced electronic subsystems for space-grade optical communications. You will take circuits from schematic to aerospace-qualified products, working with multidisciplinary teams to meet stringent performance, thermal and radiation requirements.

The role emphasizes firmware/FPGA work, high-speed PCB layout, and rigorous verification, with opportunities to influence product strategies in a cutting-edge field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with PCB design software: Altium, EAGLE, KiCAD, PADs.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, impedance matching and termination.
• Experience with analogue circuit design and SPICE simulation.
• Experience with aerospace/defence/automotive sectors and AS/EN 9100, JEDEC standards.
• Experience with aerospace radiation-hard components and derating.
• Experience with high-speed/RF PCB layout.
• Experience in electrical power and thermal modelling.
• Firmware development and FPGA HDL (Verilog) development.
• Experience with high-speed PCB simulation tools (ADS, HFSS).
• Mechanical CAD experience (Fusion360).

Responsibilities

• Design and schematic capture of circuits for optical control, electromechanical control, optical readout and processing.
• PCB layout of circuits including high-speed RF considerations.
• Design to AS/EN9100 and JEDEC standards for aerospace use.
• Create and specify power budgets for subsystems.
• Develop subsystems from prototype to aerospace-qualified products.
• Collaborate with mechanical and optical teams in constrained environments.
• Design and modelling of analogue readout and signal processing circuits.
• Simulate PCBs for high-speed electro-optical transceivers.
• Develop noise models and link budgets.
• Test and validate designs; document and review outcomes.
• Design test platforms for circuit testing.
