Job summary

MBRYONICS is seeking a DSP Engineer to translate advanced communication theory into hardware for space-bound optical systems. You will work on algorithm development, system modeling, and cross-functional integration across hardware and firmware teams.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD or near completion in Electrical Engineering or related fields, with MATLAB/Simulink mastery and fixed-point design experience for FPGA/ASIC implementation.

Qualifications

  • PhD or nearing completion in a relevant technical field with emphasis on DSP or digital communications.
  • Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
  • Experience translating theory to hardware awareness for DSP in space-grade systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate advanced DSP and FEC algorithms with both floating-point and fixed-point precision.
  • Collaborate with FPGA team to translate DSP into RTL specifications.
  • Develop end-to-end system models for RF/optical components to predict performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams for transceiver calibration and run-time optimization.
  • Validate models against hardware data and document architectures and results.
