Job summary

John Paul Construction is seeking a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to take ownership of electrical safety, switching operations and permit-to-work actions across critical infrastructure projects.

The role requires proven SAP experience with HV distribution, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to guide operational teams while coordinating with multidisciplinary colleagues. This is a permanent Ireland-based opportunity with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with HV duties.
• Knowledge of permits, switching schedules and safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of electrical regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as designated SAP for HV/LV electrical systems.
• Manage electrical switching operations and system isolations.
• Issue and control Permit-to-Work documentation.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules, procedures, and regulations.
• Authorise safe access to electrical installations and substations.
• Conduct risk assessments and support incident investigations where required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to operational teams.
• Support planned maintenance, commissioning, and emergency response activities.
