Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering in Ireland is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to contribute to estimation excellence across our growing portfolio of pharma, data centre and industrial projects. You will lead tender activities and work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver accurate, timely estimates.

Requirements include a 3rd level qualification in Electrical/Building Services, 5+ years in construction (2+ in a Senior Estimator role), tender experience above €10 million, and strong MS Office

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or similar
• Ideally 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry with 2+ years in a Senior Electrical Estimator role
• Experience with tenders in-excess of €10 million in pharma, industrial, data centre or commercial sectors
• Innovates and leads in electrical/technical activity and challenges
• Experience with Microsoft Suite, PowerPoint & Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage, develop & retain a large team
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to multi-task and manage many priorities
• Excellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills/communicates with impact
• Excellent record keeper and administration skills
• Solves problems analytically and acts decisively

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates by taking off work scope and entering data into estimating system
• Read Electrical Technical Specifications and Employers Requirements for proposed Design & Build HV substations and windfarms
• Manage tender process with departments and timely submission
• Assist in compiling Technical Submission of inclusions, exclusions, clarifications and program of works
• Manage quotation request process and review quotations
• Manage multiple projects concurrently
• Identify risks and advise bid team on solutions
• Follow up on submitted tenders and document feedback
• Attend post tender meetings
• Explain estimate scope and quotes to Construction Team at handover
