Job summary

Mane Energy in Limerick is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to own complex tenders and drive robust, technically sound estimates for major electrical projects.

You will collaborate with engineering, commercial, procurement and delivery teams from tender through handover, mentoring junior staff and helping refine estimating processes across demanding sectors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in construction or engineering.
• Approximately 2 years in an Electrical Estimator/Senior role.
• Experience tendering €10m+ on electrical scope.
• Experience across data centres, pharma, industrial, commercial, renewables.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specs and Employer's Requirements.
• Experience managing subcontractor and supplier quotations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and quantity take-offs from drawings and specs.
• Review electrical specifications and Employer's Requirements for major Design & Build projects.
• Manage the tender process from enquiry to final submission.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and project teams throughout tender.
• Manage RFQs from suppliers/subcontractors and review returned quotations.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and issues.
• Prepare tender clarifications, inclusions, exclusions and programme information.
• Handle multiple high-value tenders and tight deadlines.
• Attend post-tender meetings and support client discussions.
• Contribute to handover meetings ensuring delivery team understands estimate and scope.
• Mentor junior estimating team members and drive process improvement.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join a growing engineering and construction organisation based in Limerick.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Electrical Estimator to take ownership of major, high-value tenders while working towards a broader leadership position within the estimating function.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technically accurate and commercially robust estimates for major electrical projects, working closely with engineering, commercial, procurement and project delivery teams from initial tender through to project handover.

Projects span a range of technically demanding sectors, including data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial and renewable energy.

The Role

As Senior Electrical Estimator, you will manage multiple tenders simultaneously, ensuring that each submission is accurate, competitive and delivered within the required timeframe.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed electrical estimates and quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Reviewing electrical technical specifications and Employer's Requirements for major Design & Build projects.
• Managing the tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
• Coordinating with engineering, procurement, commercial and project teams throughout the tender process.
• Managing requests for quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and reviewing returned quotations.
• Identifying project risks, exclusions, assumptions and potential commercial or technical issues.
• Preparing tender clarifications, inclusions, exclusions and programme information.
• Managing multiple high-value tenders and competing deadlines.
• Following up submitted tenders and maintaining accurate records of client feedback.
• Attending post-tender meetings and supporting client discussions.
• Participating in project handover meetings following successful bids, ensuring the delivery team fully understands the estimate, scope and commercial assumptions.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the estimating team.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practice.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong understanding of electrical construction and the ability to take ownership of complex, high-value tenders.

You will ideally have:

• A third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience within construction or engineering, including approximately 2 years in an Electrical Estimator/Senior Electrical Estimator position.
• Experience preparing tenders valued at €10m+ on the electrical scope.
• Experience across sectors such as data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, renewable energy or electrical infrastructure.
• Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and Employer's Requirements.
• Experience managing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider team.
