Job summary

Waters is hiring a senior hardware engineer to design and develop electronic hardware systems for life sciences instruments in an on-site Limerick location. You will review schematics, participate in architecture decisions, and collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure robust, compliant products.

Ideal candidates have extensive analog/digital/mixed-signal experience, PCB development skills, and a strong problem-solving mindset in regulated environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in electronic product development.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Experience with PCB development and board-level debugging.
  • Experience using laboratory test and measurement equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Job Description
What You’ll Do
  • Design and develop electronic hardware systems and subsystems.
  • Contribute to technical requirements and electronic architectures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8 to 12+ years of experience in electronic product development.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuit design.
  • Experience with PCB development and board‑level debugging.
  • Experience using laboratory test and measurement equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Medical Device, Diagnostic, or Scientific Instrumentation industries.
  • Experience supporting regulated product development environments.
  • Experience with component obsolescence management and redesign programs.
  • Experience with FPGA or CPLD‑based systems.
  • Familiarity with Altium, PADS, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar ECAD tools.
  • Experience working with global and cross‑functional engineering teams.
