Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q12027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end‑to‑end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission‑critical applications.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Electrical Engineering or related background.
• Experience in a switchgear production environment will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Solid understanding of electricity fundamentals and electrical circuit design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• Understanding of electrical drawings such as single line diagrams and schematics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for switchgear and power distribution products.
• Create general arrangements and electrical schematics using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Generate accurate bills of materials for purchasing along with other supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of designs and documentation.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate within the engineering team to foster a supportive environment.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Electrical Design Engineer located in Dundalk, Ireland.

What a typical day looks like:

• Under the direction and mentorship of senior members of the design team, carry out the electrical design of switchgear and other critical power distribution products.
• Create general arrangements and electrical schematics using AutoCAD and AutoCAD electrical
• Generate accurate bills of materials for purchasing along with other supporting documentation such as work instructions
• Maintain accurate & up to date records of designs and documentation
• Participate in providing technical support to internal and external customers, attending meetings where necessary
• Work actively within the engineering team to help foster a positive and supportive working environment

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Have a third level qualification in Electrical Engineering or come from a related technical background
• Relevant experience in a switchgear production environment (electrical) will be considered in lieu of a third level qualification
• Have a solid understanding of electricity fundamentals and electrical circuit design
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
• Have a methodical approach to problem solving
• Understanding of electrical engineering drawings such as single line diagrams and schematics is advantageous
