Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking an experienced Senior EHS Specialist for a leading regulated manufacturing site in Cork. The role focuses on environmental compliance within pharma/medical device settings and involves liaising with EPA and regulatory bodies, managing their IED licence, and supporting ISO 14001/45001 systems.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years in EHS, strong Irish regulatory knowledge, and a track record in audits, CAPA and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' relevant EHS/environmental experience.
• Strong knowledge of Irish environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with EPA/local authorities.
• Experience with Industrial Emissions Licence compliance.
• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations.
• Good working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Experience in pharma/medical device or regulated manufacturing environments desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain compliance with Irish environmental legislation and site environmental requirements.
• Manage activities associated with the site's Industrial Emissions (IED) Licence.

• Support environmental monitoring, reporting, investigations and compliance programmes.
• Provide guidance on Dangerous Goods and environmental regulatory requirements.
• Support and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Participate in audits, inspections, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support CAPA and investigation activities relating to EHS/environmental issues.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and other site functions.

This position will have a strong environmental compliance focus and would suit someone with solid experience working within a pharmaceutical, medical device, manufacturing or similarly regulated environment.

Requirements

• Relevant third-level qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, EHS or a related discipline
• 5+ years' relevant EHS/environmental experience
• Strong knowledge of Irish environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
• Experience working with EPA/local authorities
• Experience with Industrial Emissions Licence compliance
• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations
• Good working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Previous experience within pharma, medical device or another regulated manufacturing environment is highly desirable
