Job summary

Nolato Sligo is seeking a full-time Health & Safety Officer to lead and manage Environmental, Health and Safety across the Sligo site. The role focuses on continuous improvement of EHS performance, compliance with legislation, and promoting a safety-first culture across production teams.

You will develop and implement EHS programs, drive audits, train staff, and coordinate with contractors to maintain safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Essential qualification in environmental science or occupational safety.
• Experience in manufacturing or medical device EHS.
• Proven ability to develop and implement EHS programs.
• Strong decision-making and influencing across the company.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Organised with capability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Control and monitor health and safety across machines, processes, materials and practices.
• Liaise with departments and bodies on HSE matters.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety legislation.
• Maintain COSHH risk assessment program.
• Implement an HSE audit program.
• Chair HSE committee including CAPA management.
• Raise awareness through an active training program.
• Adopt preventative approach to reduce accidents.
• Support sustainability of HSE standards.
• Ensure machinery and utilities meet codes of practice.
• Manage external contractors during inspections and projects.
• Promote continuous improvement culture around HSE in Avenue.
• Ordering and stock management of consumables including PPE.
• Work to and within quality management system.
